COFUND is a funding initiative under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) that supports regional, national, and international programs for training and career development. It aims to spread best practices in research by promoting high standards, excellent working conditions, and sustainable training.

The following categories comprise the range of COFUND types:

• Doctoral Programmes – These provide research training for doctoral candidates, with the objective of achieving a PhD degree,
• Postdoctoral Programmes – The purpose of these programmes is to fund advanced research training and career development fellowships for postdoctoral researchers.

A single legal entity in an EU Member State or Horizon Europe Associated Country is eligible to submit an application, with the option to include additional partners in the project. The following organisations are eligible for participation:

• Institutions of higher education,
• Institutions dedicated to research,
• Government entities and
• Enterprises

Funding Details:

• It has been established that a beneficiary may receive a maximum of €10 million per call,
• Projects are expected to span a duration of up to five years, with the recruitment of at least three researchers, and
• The financial provisions encompass a fixed stipend for researchers, extended leave for long-term commitments, and allowances designated for special needs.
